&lt;div&gt;The &#039;&#039;&#039;Song of Memories&#039;&#039;&#039; (おもいでの歌) is a song that is important to [[Fuyuhi Himino]] and [[Haruka Momose]] in [[Fatal Frame V]]. The &#039;&#039;&#039;Moonsong&#039;&#039;&#039; (月守の歌, called the &amp;quot;Tsukimori Song&amp;quot; in fan translations) was one of the [[Moonsounds]] performed by the [[Guardians (FF4)|Guardians]] of [[Rogetsu Isle]], on the organ in the [[Lunar Odeum]]. It was performed when the moon was resonating, to calm people&#039;s souls and prevent [[blossoming]].&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[&amp;quot;Legend of the Moonsong&amp;quot;]], [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The Guardians handed it down orally, along with a [[Guardian&#039;s Mirror|mirror]] which would reflect the moon and reveal the melody at a time when it was no longer remembered.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[&amp;quot;Secrets of the Guardians&amp;quot;]], [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

}}[[Masumi Makimura]] is a secondary character and attacking ghost in [[Fatal Frame II]]. He was a geological surveyor who [[Spirited Aways|disappeared]] while working in the Minakami area.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Fatal Frame II==&lt;br /&gt;
Masumi was sent to the Minakami region to survey the land that would be submerged once the [[Minakami Dam]] construction was complete. While studying the land, Masumi accidentally stumbled into the [[Minakami Village|Lost Village]] and became trapped. He shifted the focus of his research to the history and rituals of Minakami in the desperate attempt to escape. Several fragments of his research can be found scattered throughout the village.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
[[image:Photoofcouple.jpg|left|Masumi and Miyako|100px]]&lt;br /&gt;
Although Masumi was reported missing, the authorities called off the search for him after only ten days. Masumi&#039;s girlfriend, Miyako Sudo, believed that he was still alive and went searching for him. The two found each other at some point, but Miyako somehow got hurt shortly after. Masumi left her in the [[Osaka House]] while he went to find a way out. Having learned that the [[Kurosawa Family|Kurosawa family]] presided over the village&#039;s rituals, he directed his search to the [[Kurosawa House]]. While in the Kurosawa house, Masumi was attacked by the [[Kusabi]] in a hallway. He attempted to hide in the Storeroom of the Great Hall and died there holding [[Bloody Ring|the ring]] he planned to give to Miyako.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Unable to accept this fate and longing to give Miyako the ring, Masumi&#039;s ghost returned to the Osaka House. Miyako followed him into the back room, unaware that he was dead. As she approached, he pushed her to the floor and strangled her. His ghost, Unrest in Piece, continues to wander the village calling out to Miyako.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Bloody Ring Sidequest===&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:BloodyRing.png|left|100px]]While not required to beat Fatal Frame II or to get an alternative ending, there is the [[Bloody Ring Sidequest]], which goes into more detail concerning Miyako and Masumi&#039;s fate. The player must go around the village following Masumi&#039;s path based on notes he has left around the village and taking pictures of those locations. It ends with a battle with both Miyako and Masumi and an extended clip of the strangling scene, and gives the [[Sard|spirit stone]] and [[Bloody Memo|note]] as reward.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Alternate Endings===&lt;br /&gt;
[[image:Miyakomasumipromise.jpg|100px|left|Masumi and Miyako]]In Fatal Frame II&#039;s [[Promise Ending]], available only on the Xbox console, Miyako and Masumi are seen arm in arm in the Osaka House, staring up at the sky like the other ghosts in the village, happy once more as the [[Crimson Butterflies|crimson butterflies]] fly away from the village. However, this ending is not considered canon.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

==Fatal Frame III==&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:Ff3 Masumi.png|left|120px|Masumi&#039;s appearance in Fatal Frame III]]&lt;br /&gt;
In Fatal Frame III, [[Kei Amakura]] briefly encounters Masumi&#039;s ghost, slashed to ribbons by the Kusabi, in the [[House of Sleep]]. The newspaper article [[Land Surveyors Missing]] reveals that the search for Masumi and Miyako has been officially called off and that the two are rumored to have been [[spirited away]] by the village.&lt;br /&gt;

==Misc. Info==&lt;br /&gt;
*While Masumi and Miyako are considered boyfriend and girlfriend in Fatal Frame II, the article [[Land Surveyors Missing]] and the corresponding [[RN:Missing in Minakami|entry]] in [[Rei Kurosawa|Rei Kurosawa&#039;s]] notebook in Fatal Frame III both say that they are engaged. This may be a translation error in the English version of the game since in Fatal Frame II, Masumi was planning on proposing to Miyako, but never got the chance.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&#039;&#039;&#039;Hesitation&#039;&#039;&#039; (迷い Mayoi) by [[Yuuri Fushimi]] is the sixth chapter in the [[Zero 3 Comic Anthology]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Story==&lt;br /&gt;
[[Amane]] and her best friend [[Hisame]] are walking together when Hisame brings up Amane&#039;s selection as a [[Handmaiden]]. Hisame is impressed and thinks it&#039;s a prestigious thing, but Amane disagrees, saying that she was only chosen because she wouldn&#039;t hesitate to mess up the sacred rituals.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As they walk, Hisame spots a cat lying by the roots of a tree. Seeing that its paw is broken, Hisame wants to take it home to nurse it back to health, but Amane quickly breaks its neck, explaining that it would only have suffered otherwise. They take the cat to a clearing in the woods, a place where flowers bloom even in the darkness, to bury it in a place where it can &amp;quot;sleep in peace.&amp;quot; This is the first time Hisame has seen a dead body, and she admits that she was afraid at first, but she is impressed by Amane&#039;s composure and intends to follow her example.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after, Amane leaves home to begin her Handmaiden training. On the first day, she makes origami figures with a woman at the shrine, thinking that the atmosphere is much less strict than she was expecting. The woman then takes the two figures and tells Amane to think of them as her mother and father as she tears them to pieces. The woman then tells her to pull herself together, as hesitant Handmaidens are useless.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Meanwhile, Hisame comes across a girl crying over a sick bird. She comforts the girl and breaks the bird&#039;s neck, explaining that as Amane did, it&#039;s better to end its suffering. But the bird doesn&#039;t die as quickly as planned, and Hisame is distressed at the thought that she caused it to suffer more. She wishes Amane had been there to show her what to do. The girl then offers to be Hisame&#039;s friend, and Hisame happily agrees so that they can practice together and improve.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Amane&#039;s training continues, and one day, after study, the woman gives her a letter from Hisame. In the letter, Hisame tells her about [[Shigure]], the new friend she made. She then tells Amane to think of her when training gets hard to bear, but Amane doesn&#039;t think the training is hard at all - everyone at the [[Kuze Shrine|manor]] is kind to her, always smiling. Amane is happy to be in a place where she can be helpful, and even her cold heart can begin to stir.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after, Amane is allowed to visit the village for three days. She wonders if she will return to her old self as Hisame comes running up, proclaiming that Amane hasn&#039;t changed. Hisame introduces her to Shigure, and the three girls go into the woods to visit the cat&#039;s grave. When they arrive, Amane is shocked to see how many graves now fill the clearing.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Another girl, [[Minamo]], is also there, torturing a rabbit. Hisame gently admonishes her for making it suffer, and Shigure goes over to show her how to kill it quickly. Hisame is proud to tell Amane how much she and Shigure have improved, even though Minamo is still young and not very proficient.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The girls realise they can no longer tell the gravestones apart. Minamo suggests drawing faces on the gravestones to distinguish them from the others, and the three of them set to work enthusiastically. Amane is the only one who doesn&#039;t join in their laughter. Not long afterwards, the other three girls are selected as Handmaidens.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;hr /&gt;
&lt;div&gt;[[Image:Yuki.jpg|200px|right]]&lt;br /&gt;
The [[Yuki-onna]] (雪女) is a [[yōkai]] that appears in Japanese folklore. Yuki-onna, which literally translates as &amp;quot;snow woman,&amp;quot; was believed to be an evil entity feared before the 1700s. This was for a good reason, for the yuki-onna is the personification of the genuine danger faced by anyone unlucky enough to get caught out in the severe winter snowstorms of Japan. When spring had come, and winter snows had melted, it was not uncommon for villagers to find the frozen corpses of those who ventured up the mountains or those who went missing. The legends she appears in were probably developed as cautionary tales for those considering traveling through the mountains during the winter. The people of northern Japan were firm believers in the yuki-onna and might be where most of her tales originated. Like the snow in her name, the yuki-onna can be a beautiful sight but can also be a ruthless killer.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Appearance==&lt;br /&gt;
The yuki-onna appears on dark, snowy nights and during snowstorms in isolated or mountainous areas where lost or weary travelers were located. The yuki-onna is typically described as a tall, gorgeous woman with unnaturally pale skin and long black hair. What makes her truly stand out, though, is that she is said to have blue lips, wears a white kimono (which is typically reserved for the dead and seen on [[yūrei]]), and her eyes are said to strike terror into anyone who gazes into them. As she walks, she is said to leave no footprints behind. In some tales, she is described as being completely nude, having skin so white that she can blend in with the snowy landscape where only her black hair and facial features are visible. In other legends, the yuki-onna is said to be void of feet altogether, another feature typically seen in yūrei.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Evolution of the Yuki-onna Legends Over Time==&lt;br /&gt;
In the oldest legends, the yuki-onna was portrayed as a genuinely ruthless killer that was indiscriminate in who she killed and was satisfied to watch her victims die. Her favored method of killing was to leave her victim as a frozen corpse using her frosty breath to freeze them instantly. When she found a lost traveler, she would appear and offer to help lead them to a safe place until the storm had passed. She would then lead them far off the trail, and when she felt they would have no hope of finding their way back, she would suddenly disappear, leaving the helpless traveler to die of exposure. A unique method the yuki-onna uses to kill her victims is similar to those seen in [[ubume]] legends. She would manifest herself as a woman holding what appears to be a child, asking people to take the child with them to safety. When a well-intentioned soul would take the &amp;quot;child&amp;quot; from her, they instantly became frozen into place. The yuki-onna seems to have some control over the element of wind. In some stories, she invades homes isolated from the village by blowing their doors open and killing them as they sleep.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In some parts of Japan, the yuki-onna is considered the yūrei of a woman who died in some manner in the snows of winter. These spirits are believed to return whenever there is snow, which is similar to how the [[funayūrei]] returns only during stormy weather at sea. It is thought that sutras can be read to appease these spirits and prevent them from returning during snowstorms.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As time went on, the perception of the yuki-onna began to change. The legends began to portray the yuki-onna with a compassionate side that made her, in some ways, feel more human. She would spare certain people&#039;s lives for various reasons, which included them being too young, too old, or too good-looking to kill. If she chose to spare their lives, it was usually required that the person never speaks of seeing her to anyone, lest she comes back for the kill that was rightfully hers. The yuki-onna would also take on a human form when she liked a strikingly handsome male she had spared to marry and produce offspring with him (as can be seen in Lafcadio Hearn&#039;s story &#039;Yuki-onna&#039;). She would accompany this man in life, quietly and happily, until he either died of old age or gave up the secret he promised long ago never to tell. In this human form, the yuki-onna would appear to never truly age regardless of how harsh life she had, and her offspring would have very fair white skin.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In more modern legends, the yuki-onna took on vampiric overtones in which she would kill her victims by draining them of their blood or &amp;quot;life force.&amp;quot; These legends of the yuki-onna were developed sometime after western influence was introduced to Japan (most likely sometime after 1854). Before the introduction of western culture, the Japanese had no concept of vampires or blood-sucking creatures. Only two Japanese stories include a vampire-like creature before western influence, the kappa, and a folktale known in English as &amp;quot;The Vampire Cat of Nabeshima.&amp;quot; In other tales, the yuki-onna took on some of the characteristics of another folklore creature, the western succubus. She would tempt weak-willed men with her beautiful looks and convince them to kiss her or have sexual intercourse with her, after which she would drain them of their blood or leave them as ice-covered corpses.&lt;br /&gt;

}}Shigeto was the director of [[Haibara Hospital]] on [[Rougetsu Island]]. As the head of the [[Haibara Family]], he was a very important person on the island, and provided both political and cultural leadership.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;[[Choushiro&#039;s Handbook]]: [[CH:Shigeto Haibara|Shigeto Haibara]]&#039;&#039;, [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; In the past, the Haibara family had served as high priests, overseeing the island&#039;s rituals,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;[[Director Haibara&#039;s Note 1]]&#039;&#039;, [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; and although many of the traditions had faded by Shigeto&#039;s time, he continued to manage the [[Rougetsu Kagura]] festival held once every ten years. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Past==&lt;br /&gt;
Shigeto spent much of his life attempting to find a cure for [[Getsuyuu Syndrome]] using various techniques, inspired by both modern medicine and religious folklore. Both his wife and [[Sakuya Haibara|daughter]] suffered from the disease, and his wife killed herself. Shigeto dedicated himself to finding a cure, as did his son [[You Haibara|You]], who opened a clinic on the mainland with his father&#039;s support.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;Character Correlation Chart: Shigeto Haibara&#039;&#039;, [http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/r4zj/index.html Fatal Frame IV official website]. ([http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/ff4/ff4correlation.html English translation])&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; Both You and Shigeto carried their research to extremes, performing fatal experiments on living patients.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Fatal Frame IV==&lt;br /&gt;
Shigeto believed that the only way to save his daughter was to perform the ancient [[Kiraigou]], the original form of the Kagura. Working together with [[Souya Yomotsuki]], a master mask-maker of the [[Yomotsuki Family]], he began to research the ritual. Since the Kiraigou caused the [[Day Without Suffering]], which left the island in ruins, it had become taboo, and much of the lore surrounding it had been lost, but using the [[Camera Obscura]] created by [[Dr. Kunihiko Asou]], Shigeto was able to reveal fragments of the past. The photographs he took with the camera showed the melody needed to access the Underground Lunar Hall from the Antechamber&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;[[Souya&#039;s Note 2]]&#039;&#039;, [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;, and the taboo Mask of the Lunar Eclipse created by [[Souetsu Yomotsuki]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As the time of the lunar eclipse grew closer, You returned from the mainland and joined Shigeto and Souya&#039;s efforts, trying to recreate the [[Lunar Melody|lunar melody]] from ancient documents and personally selecting the five girls who would perform as [[Kanade]] in the Kiraigou, while Sakuya was to perform as the [[Utsuwa]]. However, the ritual ultimately failed. The mask shattered, Sakuya fell into a coma, and the five Kanade lost their memories. Shigeto had Sakuya moved to the [[Shrine of Mourning]], and observed the girls in the [[Moonbeam Well]], until they were rescued two weeks later by detective [[Choushiro Kirishima]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is unclear what Shigeto did in the two years following the Kiraigou. He denied all involvement in the kidnappings, and when another man confessed to the crime in a suicide note,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;[[Choushiro&#039;s Handbook]]: [[CH:Shigeto Haibara|Shigeto Haibara]]&#039;&#039;, [[Fatal Frame IV]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; the police ceased their investigations. The hospital remained open, and [[Shrine Guards|islanders]] serving the Haibara family tended Sakuya as she hovered between life and death. Shigeto&#039;s fate on the Day Without Suffering is not mentioned, but it can be assumed he [[Blooming|Bloomed]] and died along with the rest of the islanders.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As a ghost, he appears in two forms: a vanishing ghost in standard work attire and an attacking ghost in ritual attire, including a mask. The latter occurs only in Choushiro&#039;s [[Chapter 10: Lingering Cherry Blossoms|final chapter]], in the basement of the hospital, alongside [[Masanobu Fuchiki]] and [[Michihiko Ikushima]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
== Misc. Info ==&lt;br /&gt;
*Shigeto has one special attack which involves him swinging his fan in an upward motion, shooting three pairs of two small white circular discs from the tips of his fan.&lt;br /&gt;
*There seems to be spelling confusion on Shigeto&#039;s name. The game lists his name as &amp;quot;Shigeto,&amp;quot; while the official site and game guide spell his name as &amp;quot;Shige&#039;&#039;&#039;hi&#039;&#039;&#039;to.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

}}The Strangling Ritual is the primary ritual of the [[Himuro Mansion]]. It is always performed on [[December 13th]], approximately 10 years after the prior sacrifice.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Strangling Ritual Document]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; It is a [[Shinto]] ritual that has been performed by the [[Himuro Family]] since ancient times.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Black Notebook Scrap 1]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The ritual involves the [[Rope Shrine Maiden]] being sacrificed and the [[Laceration Rope|ropes]], saturated with her blood, are then used to bind the [[Hell Gate]] shut until the next ritual must be performed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Preparation==&lt;br /&gt;
Of the girls participating in the [[Demon Tag Ritual]], the last caught is chosen to be the next Rope Shrine Maiden. She is then taken from her family and cut off from the outside world for 3,669 days&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Strangling Ritual Document]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; (roughly 10 years). The four [[Headless Priests|priests]] that care for her wear masks to prevent her from becoming attached to them, and therefore the living world. She is designated certain days in which she is allowed outside, though which days are not clear. Overall, the maiden must be kept completely detached from the world and must be willing to die. If she retains the will to live at the time of her death, or is emotionally conflicted, the Strangling Ritual will fail.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==The Ritual==&lt;br /&gt;
When it is time for the ritual, the Rope Shrine Maiden is taken from her [[Dungeon|cell]] to the [[Moon Well]] to purify herself in the moonlight. She then enters the basement through a door that only she is allowed to use, located at the bottom of the Moon Well.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Research Scrap 8]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The rest of the Himuro family must use the [[Demon Mouth]] entrance to access the basement. Both of these paths cross and lead to the [[Rope Altar|ceremony chamber]]. The [[Lord Himuro|family master]] leads the maiden, the priests, and the rest of the Himuro family down, while the priests walk alongside the maiden.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There is a large pedestal with five wheels in the chamber, which ropes are attached to and pulled by. The Rope Shrine Maiden is put on the pedestal, and ropes are tied around her wrists, ankles, and neck. The order is right arm, left arm, right leg, left leg.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Document on Binding]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; The head is not specified. The ropes are then attached to the wheels and turned, one by each of the four priests. The family master turns the wheel connected to the maiden&#039;s head. She is pulled limb from limb and sacrificed.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Result==&lt;br /&gt;
Laceration Rope is produced with which the [[Ceremony of the Ropes]] is then performed.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[The Rope Priestess]], [[Fatal Frame III]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Disaster==&lt;br /&gt;
The last Strangling Ritual, performed on [[December 13th]], [[Timeline (FF1)#Year of the Calamity (1837?)|1837]], failed and caused the [[Calamity]]. As a result, the [[Malice]] escaped and 1,347 souls were lost.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[The Calamity Document]], [[Fatal Frame]]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Alternative Names==&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
==Song Information==&lt;br /&gt;
While [[Zero no Chouritsu]] was promoted as being the &#039;image song&#039; for [[Fatal Frame IV]], fans were surprised to hear NOISE as the ending song during the first initial ending of the game. This caused confusion as to which song was actually the real song. It was revealed that, unlike previous games where Tsukiko Amano had only contributed one song, in this instance she contributed two.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
NOISE is created as the ENDING SONG, and not the &#039;image song&#039; or theme song to the game. Players can hear the song in the Easy and Normal endings.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The song was supposed to be part of Tsukiko Amano&#039;s ZERO album, however before publication Amano decided to pull the song on the basis that it didn&#039;t match up with the other songs contained within the album.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Album Information==&lt;br /&gt;
Amano announced in her blog&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[[Tsukiko Amano|Tsukiko, A.]](20.11.2008) ノイズ. [Amano Tsukiko&#039;s Official Blog. 22.12.2008 [http://blog.livedoor.jp/am_bakuon/].&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; that Noise(ノイズ) would be released as a sort of best mini-album set. The set would go on sale on Nov. 24th during her final live performance, and then be on sale at Otokura&#039;s online store on Nov. 25th. The compilation features Amano&#039;s collection of Indies hit singles along with NOISE, and a previously unreleased song Sakana (サカナ) which was from her very early indies days before she premiered (it was one of the songs on her promo tape).&lt;br /&gt;

To imagine your profile was to erase it.&lt;br /&gt;
I want to keep on remembering you,&lt;br /&gt;
Even if the world should end.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
My blossoms have grown rampant, there is no shape left.&lt;br /&gt;
I have even forgotten&lt;br /&gt;
What colour it was they had taken on.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I gather up my thoughts in this shifting light&lt;br /&gt;
And continue on to you.&lt;br /&gt;
When I wasn&#039;t there, you could change&lt;br /&gt;
Your two hands into wings&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In trembling unconsciousness, I grabbed up my sinking heart&lt;br /&gt;
And gathered the countless copies of you scattered about.&lt;br /&gt;
And if we shall never meet again, then I&#039;ll turn myself back&lt;br /&gt;
To that self engraved in my body that doesn&#039;t know you.&lt;br /&gt;
From the oblivion, a NOISE echoes out.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
My body goes to ruin on this twisted dreamer&#039;s road.&lt;br /&gt;
I want to keep remembering&lt;br /&gt;
Even every little pain.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I want to give you answers when you&#039;re lost&lt;br /&gt;
And get you out of where you are.&lt;br /&gt;
If it&#039;s an unforgivable punishment, you don&#039;t have to forgive it.&lt;br /&gt;
I&#039;m gazing right at you.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In trembling unconsciousness, I grabbed up my sinking heart&lt;br /&gt;
And gathered the countless copies of you scattered about.&lt;br /&gt;
I&#039;ll fade out with the illusions, just like you want, and on the edge,&lt;br /&gt;
Stain me white, send me back to zero&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I gather up my thoughts in this shifting light&lt;br /&gt;
And continue on to you.&lt;br /&gt;
Until the day my eternity begins&lt;br /&gt;
To sprout in your heart.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In trembling unconsciousness, I grabbed up my sinking heart&lt;br /&gt;
And gathered the countless copies of you scattered about.&lt;br /&gt;
And if we shall never meet again, then I&#039;ll turn myself back&lt;br /&gt;
To that self engraved in my body that doesn&#039;t know you.&lt;br /&gt;
In consciousnesses fading into one another, the rubble&lt;br /&gt;
Begins to shine with a beautiful light&lt;br /&gt;
I&#039;ll fade out with the illusions, if that is your will, and on the edge,&lt;br /&gt;
Stain me white, send me back to zero&lt;br /&gt;
From the oblivion, a NOISE echoes out.&lt;br /&gt;

In-game English Lyrics=&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;poem&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
There in the distance&lt;br /&gt;
a bird awaits your embrace&lt;br /&gt;
With folded wings&lt;br /&gt;
it won&#039;t fly anywhere without you&lt;br /&gt;
Within its time-worn cage&lt;br /&gt;
those days fall out of memory&lt;br /&gt;
They all fade away&lt;br /&gt;
into the blinding light&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Won&#039;t someone please hear my call?&lt;br /&gt;
Shouting up to the skies&lt;br /&gt;
Shouting up to beyond the skies&lt;br /&gt;
thinking of you&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The distance to heaven&lt;br /&gt;
The distance from my heart&lt;br /&gt;
can&#039;t compare to the longing I feel&lt;br /&gt;
Though the way is long and dark&lt;br /&gt;
my love will find a way to you&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The distance to heaven&lt;br /&gt;
The distance to the sky&lt;br /&gt;
The falling rain surrounds me&lt;br /&gt;
like a gentle wave washing away&lt;br /&gt;
all of my wishes&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Can someone tell me,&lt;br /&gt;
how long has it been&lt;br /&gt;
since I last saw the light of day?&lt;br /&gt;
Yet even the faintest light&lt;br /&gt;
brings my pain back to me&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Won&#039;t someone please take my wings?&lt;br /&gt;
These wings can&#039;t fly&lt;br /&gt;
but if they could&lt;br /&gt;
I&#039;d fly away from this pain&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The distance to heaven&lt;br /&gt;
The distance from my heart&lt;br /&gt;
Whenever I close my eyes&lt;br /&gt;
I see an image of you in my heart&lt;br /&gt;
fading into the darkness&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The distance to heaven&lt;br /&gt;
The distance from my heart&lt;br /&gt;
can&#039;t compare to the longing I feel&lt;br /&gt;
Though the way is long and dark&lt;br /&gt;

遥か遠くであなたを持つ一羽の鳥&lt;br /&gt;

錆びた籠の中朧げになった日々は&lt;br /&gt;
薄れていくほどに&lt;br /&gt;

Higanbana is the theme song for [[Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water]]. It is AnJu&#039;s debut song for the [[Fatal Frame series]]. The title is the name of a kind of [[Higanbana|flower]] which has a great deal of resonance in Japanese folklore and symbolism.&lt;br /&gt;

English=&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;poem&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Somewhere beyond the blackened skies&lt;br /&gt;
there&#039;s a place where we might meet again&lt;br /&gt;
Can we go back to that day -&lt;br /&gt;
watching the sun set together?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Why do I keep hoping to see your face&lt;br /&gt;
when I look towards the skies?&lt;br /&gt;
If I could only see, one more time&lt;br /&gt;
the one that I love so dear&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I can see the lilies, gleaming red as blood&lt;br /&gt;
floating in the pale moonlight&lt;br /&gt;
Is it an angel or a devil in disguise?&lt;br /&gt;
That hand beckoning me&lt;br /&gt;
to the other side&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
As I take that final step into the void&lt;br /&gt;
in that blinding light I can feel your gaze&lt;br /&gt;
You push me away; it&#039;s not my time, you say&lt;br /&gt;
as you close yourself to me&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I can see the lilies, gleaming red as blood&lt;br /&gt;
floating in between the light and dark&lt;br /&gt;
I can see your face hidden in the mist&lt;br /&gt;
Is it you who&#039;s waiting there for me?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I can see the lilies, gleaming red as blood&lt;br /&gt;

燃え尽きる　空の果てには&lt;br /&gt;
天国があるんだよって&lt;br /&gt;
消えそうな　夕陽を見てた&lt;br /&gt;
もう戻れないの?　昨日に&lt;br /&gt;

どうしてこの瞳は&lt;br /&gt;
まだ明日の空を　探すのだろう?&lt;br /&gt;
わたしの　愛しいひとは　もう二度と&lt;br /&gt;
見上げる　こともない&lt;br /&gt;

光と闇の狭間に揺れる&lt;br /&gt;
血のような　彼岸花は&lt;br /&gt;
誰を待って　いるの　でしょうか&lt;br /&gt;
朝もやに　滲んで　手を振る&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
あなたとの　大切な日々&lt;br /&gt;
胸の奥　抱えたままで&lt;br /&gt;
傷ついた　捨て猫　みたい&lt;br /&gt;
虚ろに目を閉じ　委ねる&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
どうして　この命は&lt;br /&gt;
まだ生きることを　望むのだろう?&lt;br /&gt;
わたしの　心の傷は朝日を&lt;br /&gt;
拒んでいるのに&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
月明かりに　浮かんでは揺れる&lt;br /&gt;
血のような　彼岸花は&lt;br /&gt;
天使に似た　悪魔　でしょうか&lt;br /&gt;
手招きしているの&lt;br /&gt;
わたしに&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
最後のあと一歩 踏み出すとき&lt;br /&gt;
一瞬の光の中　君のまなざし&lt;br /&gt;
まだダメだって　体押し返して&lt;br /&gt;
漆黒の扉が　閉じてった&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
光と闇の狭間に揺れる&lt;br /&gt;

Hey, just wondering, did the romaji you used for Higanbana come from Google Translate? I noticed your version and the Google version both rendered &amp;quot;akumadeshou&amp;quot; as one word.--[[User:Midwinter|Midwinter]] ([[User talk:Midwinter|talk]]) 13:52, 8 November 2021 (GMT)&lt;br /&gt;

Yes, but I made sure it was the correct pronunciations. I&#039;m not sure what the correct romaji translation would be regarding spaces, so I apologize for that. Please feel free to correct that any other romaji that seem to be off. [[User:Azusa|Azusa]] ([[User talk:Azusa|talk]]) 16:40, 8 November 2021 (GMT)&lt;/div&gt;</summary>

Not much is known about Rui&#039;s life. She and Ren were introduced at a magazine company, and because she was good at managing data, he took her on as his assistant. One way or another, she ended up living in his [[Hojo Residence|house]], and also takes responsibility for most of the housework, since Ren is not good at it. Ren is grateful for her help, although he occasionally loses his temper when she tidies away a book he is looking for.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Fatal Frame V==&lt;br /&gt;
Rui accompanies Ren on most of his missions and helps him with his research, but she is susceptible to the influence of ghosts, and this makes her vulnerable. In [[Mikomori Hot Springs]], a [[Shino Kururugi|ghost]] almost succeeds in making her hang herself, and in the [[Shrine of Dolls]], the spirits of [[Shiragiku]] and the children playing hide and seek cause her to wander off and hide as well. After Ren saves her on both occasions, her feelings towards him begin to change, and although up until that point she has been comfortable with the ambiguous relationship they have, she starts to consider the possibility of a more romantic one.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Later, when ghosts begin to congregate in [[Kurosawa&#039;s Antiques]], Rui is spirited away, and Ren goes after her. He finds her in the [[Watarai Residence]], inside a [[reliquary]], but when he finds her he has a strange hallucination in which she drags him into the box with her and he meets her in the [[House of Joining]], dressed as a bride.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ren does not tell Rui about this hallucination, and in the [[Mount Hikami Cable Car|cable car]] on the way home, she makes a point of sitting beside him and leaning on his shoulder, indicating that she has made her decision. Ren, though still hesitant, cannot help smiling.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Afterwards, Rui is exhausted and spends the rest of the game asleep on the couch in the office at Kurosawa&#039;s Antiques. When Ren gets ready to go to Mount Hikami again, she is afraid he will choose one of the other brides over her, and sleepily asks him not to leave. He goes anyway, but in a post-ending cutscene, she wakes to find him sitting nearby, watching over her. When he starts to get up she reacts with alarm, and only relaxes when he reassures her he&#039;s not going anywhere.&lt;br /&gt;

*Rui was inspired by Yoshio Kobayashi, a character in a series of mysteries by Japanese author Edogawa Ranpo. Kobayashi is the assistant of the main character, Detective Kogoro Akechi. In one adaptation, Kobayashi, a male character, was played by a female actress in male clothes, and Rui&#039;s character design attempted to recreate the same kind of ambiguity about gender.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;Characters: Rui Kagamiya&#039;&#039;, [[Zero Nuregarasu no Miko Complete Guide]], p9. ==Song Information==&lt;br /&gt;
Kurenai (くれなゐ, meaning &amp;quot;Crimson&amp;quot; in Japanese) is the theme song of [[Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly]]. It replaced [[Chou]] as the song that plays during the credits upon clearing the game. Though it is a completely different song from Chou, it is considered a &amp;quot;sister song&amp;quot; to it, and the two share main themes. Whereas Chou is in the viewpoint of a butterfly with torn wings flying through the sky, Kurenai is from the viewpoint of the butterfly&#039;s wings, lying on the ground and wishing to rejoin its body.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://tsuki-amano.weblogs.jp/zatsuon/2012/07/くれなゐライナーノーツ.html &amp;quot;Kurenai&amp;quot; Liner Notes], [[Tsuki Amano]] official blog (Japanese)&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

===Japanese===&lt;br /&gt;
それぞれの正しさを振り翳すように人は群れを成す&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
食み出すもの刈り取る鋏を携え　わたしを捕らえる&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
狂いはじめてた　ぬくもりの香り&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
揺さぶられた　わたしを笑い&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君は消えてゆく　闇夜の隙間に&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
わたしの身代わりに&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
朱く　朱く&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
永遠に刻み付いた&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君とわたしをひとつ束ねた残骸&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
今も同じ永遠を泳ぎながら&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
わたしを待つの　ちぎれた翼で&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
大空を舞って&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
どれだけ目が醒めたら　朝日の麓へ君を連れ出せる&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
どれだけ罰を拭う　愛を奏でたら　わたしは戻れる&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
追いつきたかった　掴まえたかった&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君とふたり　歩きたかった&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君は逃げてゆく　閉ざした扉を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
いくつも擦り抜けて&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
燻るほど&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
染まりゆく朱い罪を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
優しい傷を　わたしは抱いてゆきたい&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
今も同じ永遠を泳いでいる&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君の翼に　わたしの両手を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
繋ぎ合わせて&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
わたしは生きてく　翼をもがれた&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
飛べない蝶のまま&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
朱く　朱く&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Try to lay us out, cut us down to size.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Walking under a moonless sky&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
you&#039;re disappearing before me.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Walking to sacrifice yourself for me,&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
you wear a sweet smile.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Crimson... Crimson...&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
It&#039;s my proof that you and I&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
are together and always.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Are you still wandering?&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

==Song Information==&lt;br /&gt;
Kurenai (くれなゐ, meaning &amp;quot;Crimson&amp;quot; in Japanese) is the theme song of [[Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly]]. It replaced [[Chou]] as the song that plays during the credits upon clearing the game. Though it is a completely different song from Chou, it is considered a &amp;quot;sister song&amp;quot; to it, and the two share main themes. Whereas Chou is in the viewpoint of a butterfly with torn wings flying through the sky, Kurenai is from the viewpoint of the butterfly&#039;s wings, lying on the ground and wishing to rejoin its body.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://tsuki-amano.weblogs.jp/zatsuon/2012/07/くれなゐライナーノーツ.html &amp;quot;Kurenai&amp;quot; Liner Notes], [[Tsuki Amano]] official blog (Japanese)&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

===Japanese===&lt;br /&gt;
それぞれの正しさを振り翳すように人は群れを成す&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
食み出すもの刈り取る鋏を携え　わたしを捕らえる&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
狂いはじめてた　ぬくもりの香り&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
揺さぶられた　わたしを笑い&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君は消えてゆく　闇夜の隙間に&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
わたしの身代わりに&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
朱く　朱く&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
永遠に刻み付いた&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君とわたしをひとつ束ねた残骸&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
今も同じ永遠を泳ぎながら&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
わたしを待つの　ちぎれた翼で&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
大空を舞って&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
どれだけ目が醒めたら　明日の麓へ君を連れ出せる&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
どれだけ罰を拭う　愛を奏でたら　わたしは戻れる&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
追いつきたかった　掴まえたかった&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君とふたり　歩きたかった&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君は逃げてゆく　閉ざした扉を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
いくつも擦り抜けて&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
燻るほど&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
染まりゆく朱い罪を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
優しい傷を　わたしは抱いてゆきたい&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
今も同じ永遠を泳いでいる&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君の翼に　わたしの両手を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
繋ぎ合わせて&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
わたしは生きてく　翼をもがれた&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
飛べない蝶のまま&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
朱く　朱く&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
永遠に刻み付いた&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
君とわたしをひとつ束ねた残骸&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
燻るほど&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
染まりゆく朱い罪を&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
優しい傷を　わたしは抱いてゆきたい&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
今も同じ永遠を泳ぎながら&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
わたしを待つの　ちぎれた翼で&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
大空を舞って&lt;br /&gt;

People gather to chant of what is right.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Try to lay us out, cut us down to size.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I knew something had changed.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Walking under a moonless sky&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
you&#039;re disappearing before me.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Walking to sacrifice yourself for me,&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
you wear a sweet smile.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

It&#039;s my proof that you and I&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
&#039;&#039;&#039;Miku Hinasaki&#039;&#039;&#039; is the heroine of [[Fatal Frame]] and one of the three main characters in [[Fatal Frame III]]. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
She is the younger of the two children of [[Masato Hinasaki|Masato]] and [[Miyuki Hinasaki]]. She wears a [[Miku&#039;s Hairclip|comb]] in her hair that belonged to her grandmother [[Mikoto Munakata|Mikoto]]. Miku is no stranger to tragedy, as her father died while away on assignment when she was very young,&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://www.tecmo.co.jp/product/zero/zero_staff_an2.htm Zero Anthology #2 - Miku and Mafuyu]. ([http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/ff/anthology2.html English translation])&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; and she was the one to discover her mother&#039;s hanging corpse in the back of their garden. After the death of their mother, Miku&#039;s older brother, [[Mafuyu Hinasaki|Mafuyu]], takes care of her. Miku has the rare gift of a [[sixth sense]], and she can see things that other people usually cannot see. This &#039;gift&#039;, however, sets her apart from others, and the only person she can really open up to is her brother.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==[[Fatal Frame]]==&lt;br /&gt;
On September 24th, [[1986]], Mafuyu sets out to search for his mentor, [[Junsei Takamine]], who disappeared during an assignment involving a new book he was planning to write. After either nine days or two weeks (the in-game voiceover and the manual give different intervals), Miku follows her brother to [[Himuro Mansion]].&lt;br /&gt;

When Miku enters the mansion there is no sign of Mafuyu, except for their mother&#039;s old [[Camera Obscura|camera]], which has been abandoned in front of a mirror at the end of a long [[Rope Hallway|hallway]] full of hanging ropes. She finds herself trapped and unable to leave the terrifying house. As she searches for Mafuyu, Junsei Takamine and the rest of his party, she also finds herself beginning to succumb to the [[Rope Curse]]. Miku isn&#039;t alone; as she searches she is aided by a mysterious little [[White Kimono|girl]] in a white and orange kimono, and she begins to learn of her own family&#039;s connection to the mansion, and the [[Calamity]] that left it cursed and uninhabitable. After four nights of searching for clues, evading harmful ghosts and searching for pieces of an ancient [[Holy Mirror]], Miku finds her brother, and is able to free the spirits trapped within the Himuro Mansion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Sadly, her struggles to get Mafuyu back are in vain, as he decides to stay with the [[Rope Shrine Maiden|Shrine Maiden]] [[Kirie Himuro|Kirie]]. Miku escapes the underground shrine before the cavern collapses. As she walks into the night, she sees the lights of all the formerly trapped spirits floating up into the sky, free. After that day, her sixth sense ability seems to have vanished.*&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Is it a &amp;lt;i&amp;gt;&#039;True Story&#039;&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt;?===&lt;br /&gt;
Contrary to the popular belief inspired by Fatal Frame&#039;s &#039;[[Based on a true story?|Based on a True Story]]&#039; advertising, Miku Hinasaki is purely fictional, and was not based on any real girl who went into a haunted mansion in search of her brother.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

[[Image:Mikuwithman.png|left|100px]]&lt;br /&gt;
Miku is taken in by [[Yuu Asou]], who was a co-worker and friend of her brother Mafuyu. Miku gets a black and white cat (apparently a &#039;gift&#039; from her deceased parents) whom she names [[Ruri]]. Yuu eventually introduces Miku to his fiancée [[Rei Kurosawa]], a photographer, and Miku works as Rei&#039;s assistant. The three live together under the same roof for a while; Miku has [[Miku&#039;s Room|her own room]] where she keeps a photograph of herself and Mafuyu on her desk. While Yuu knows that Miku lost her brother, she has never spoken to Rei about it. Miku tries to put the events of those nights behind her, always wearing a smile on her face. But two years after Miku moves in, Yuu is killed in a car accident. After Yuu&#039;s death, Rei closes herself off from the outside world so Miku, understanding what it&#039;s like to lose someone, takes over the cooking, chores, and errands.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A month or two after Yuu&#039;s death, Miku and Rei go on an assignment to take photographs of a supposedly [[Kuze Shrine|haunted mansion]]. The trip seems uneventful, until Rei begins having trouble sleeping, and Miku begins to have new nightmares about Himuro Mansion.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Miku begins by collecting information on a woman in a photograph Rei presents to her, [[Yoshino Takigawa]], who was the sole survivor of an airplane crash. As she begins to research and find clues for Rei on the [[Manor of Sleep]], her dreams become more and more vivid. Her powers, which were considered &#039;lost&#039; at the end of [[Fatal Frame]], have now returned without explanation. She dreams of Himuro Mansion, and a [[Kizuna Himuro|Rope Shrine Maiden]]. She dreams about a girl called [[Amane Kuze|Amane]], who is also looking for her [[Kaname Ototsuki|brother]]. Amane tells Miku her brother is here waiting for her, and begins to lead Miku deeper into the manor.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:Lullabyatwindow.jpg‎|left|100px]]&lt;br /&gt;
Soon, Miku begins showing symptoms of the [[Tattooed Curse]]. During her waking hours she is tired and distant. Rei also catches her singing a [[lullaby]]. At night she talks in her sleep, calling out for Mafuyu and her mother, and sobbing about &amp;quot;the ropes.&amp;quot;  When the [[Snake &amp;amp; Holly Tattoo|tattoo]] has covered nearly all of Miku&#039;s body, she tells Rei that she understands the tattoo to be her punishment for living when Mafuyu died. Rei attempts to console her and assures her that they will get through the ordeal. Before Rei goes to bed, Miku tells her that the car accident wasn&#039;t her fault and trails off into an apology. She then asks to be left alone.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:mikuchasemafuyu.jpg|left|100px|Miku follows Mafuyu into the Manor of Sleep]]&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after, Miku succumbs to the curse and chases after what appears to be Mafuyu. (In-game there is also the option not to go after Mafuyu, so Miku is instead claimed by [[Reika Kuze|Reika]]). Rei desperately tries to stop her, but can only watch as Miku fades and disappears. When Rei wakes from her dream, she finds Miku fast asleep with [[Engraver|Engravers]] hovering around her. Miku is alive, but in a deep coma.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Rei is able to find a way to stop the curse, and is able to free Miku as well as herself. In the final scene after the credits, Miku and Rei are seen sitting together on a beach watching the sunset. Miku says she finally understands why she and Rei were allowed to survive. The two resolve to live on even with their pain, knowing that a part of the people they love will live on with them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Fatal Frame V==&lt;br /&gt;
[[File:FF5 Miku.png|right|150px]]Miku returns as a secondary character in [[Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water]]. According to the [[Zero Nuregarasu no Miko Complete Guide|official guidebook]], just as Rei met Yuu one last time at the [[Abyss of the Horizon]], Miku was able to meet Mafuyu. She &amp;quot;perpetrated the forbidden in the dream with the dead, and after she awoke she had conceived.&amp;quot;&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;&#039;&#039;Characters: Miku Hinasaki&#039;&#039;, [[Zero Nuregarasu no Miko Complete Guide]], p12. ([http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/ff5/ff5chars.html English translation])&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt; She quit as Rei&#039;s assistant and went to live alone with her baby daughter, Miu.&lt;br /&gt;
[[File:Miku_concept.png|150px|left]]&lt;br /&gt;
As the offspring of the living and the dead, Miu is a [[Shadowborn]]. Bearing such a child weakened Miku and shortened her life considerably. In the [[Mikomori Region|area]] near [[Mount Hikami]], she learned of the tradition of [[Ghost Marriage]]. When she felt the end approaching, she left Miu, then only three years old, and travelled up the mountain to the [[House of Joining]]. There, she entered into a [[Ghost Marriage]], with Mafuyu as her partner, hoping that by doing so she could be with him again, and ease his suffering as he helped to keep the [[Hell Gate]] closed. In accordance with the rituals of Mount Hikami, Miku was placed in a [[Reliquary|casket]] and became a [[Pillar]]. As an [[Immortal Flower]], she did not age, and so she still looks the same fifteen years later when Miu finds her.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After a weak protest, Miku agrees to go home with Miu, and the two stay in [[Kurosawa&#039;s Antiques]] for a short time. In a dream, Miu sees that Miku is returning to the mountain, and follows her to the [[Lake of the Departed]]. Together they wade out into the water and witness the [[Dark Sun|eternal sunset]] visible only on the border of death, while Miku explains about her longing to be with Mafuyu. Miu finally understands Miku&#039;s reasons for leaving, but begs her to stay even so.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At this point, there are two possible outcomes. In one, Miku vanishes, leaving Miu alone. In the second, Miu wakes to find Miku still sleeping beside her, and they spend the remainder of Miku&#039;s life together.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

{{Quote&lt;br /&gt;

==Alternative Endings==&lt;br /&gt;
===Fatal Frame===&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:Mikumafuyuxboxending.jpg|100px|left]]In both the [[Photograph Ending(FF)|Photograph Ending]] and the [[Mafuyu Ending]], Miku and Mafuyu escape Himuro Mansion together, and Mafuyu lives. Because Mafuyu is dead in Fatal Frame III and Fatal Frame V, this ending is not considered canon.&amp;lt;br clear=all&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Fatal Frame III===&lt;br /&gt;
[[image:Ff3meeting.jpg‎|left|100px]] The [[Photograph Ending(FF3)|Photograph Ending]] of Fatal Frame III shows Miku waking up from her cursed sleep and being embraced by Rei. Later, Miku and Rei get back to work, developing photographs together, and Miku meets [[Mio Amakura]] and [[Kei Amakura]] for the first time in the real world. Miku&#039;s fate seems assured, as she survived in both endings.&amp;lt;br clear=all&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
===Fatal Frame V===&lt;br /&gt;
It is not known which of Miku&#039;s endings in Fatal Frame V will be canon, but ultimately the end result seems to be the same. In one, she was already on the point of leaving the world, and the version of her that returned with Miu was no more than a lingering trace which soon vanished. In the second, she remained with Miu, but the consequences of giving birth to a Shadowborn were still with her, and she had only a short time left.&amp;lt;br clear=all&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Notes==&lt;br /&gt;
[[Image:Ff3 Miku Research.png|right|100px]] During FF3, Miku does a lot of research for Rei, mostly finding texts and documents written by other people. The notes she writes herself during her work are:&lt;br /&gt;
* [[Abandoned House]]&lt;br /&gt;
* [[The Crawling Woman]]&lt;br /&gt;
* [[Yoshino Takigawa(FF3)|Yoshino Takigawa]]&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In FF5, Miku leaves a few short notes scattered around [[Mount Hikami]], explaining her actions.&lt;br /&gt;

==Design &amp;amp; Costumes==&lt;br /&gt;
::Main article: [[Miku&#039;s Character Design]]&lt;br /&gt;
When 零～Zero～ was brought to the United States as [[Fatal Frame]] (and to Europe as Project Zero), Miku&#039;s overall design and look was &#039;Westernized&#039; to make her more appealing to gamers. This character design was also used in all Xbox versions of the game. Curiously enough, even with the changes, whenever Miku appears in other games outside of Fatal Frame, she is wearing her [[Default Miku Costume Japanese(FF)|original Japanese outfit]] - it is even an unlockable in [[Fatal Frame III]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In Fatal Frame III, Miku&#039;s default costume was modelled on the outfit she wore in Fatal Frame, so it has a similar outline and sense of symmetry. Her costume and room were designed around the idea that she enjoyed collecting traditional Japanese objects and patterns.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://www.tecmo.co.jp/product/zero3/z60c03.htm Fatal Frame III: Column #3 - 28 July 2005], Fatal Frame III official website. ([http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/ff3/ff3column3.html English translation]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;For Miku&#039;s entire listing of unlockable costumes:&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;ul&amp;gt;&amp;lt;li&amp;gt;[[Fatal Frame Costumes]]&amp;lt;/li&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;li&amp;gt;[[Fatal Frame III Costumes]]&amp;lt;/li&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/ul&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
==Misc. Info==&lt;br /&gt;
* While Miku&#039;s Japanese voice actress is the same in both Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame III and Fatal Frame V, the English releases of the games have separate voice actresses.&lt;br /&gt;
* Miku actually has long hair, it&#039;s just tied up in the back and held up by her [[Miku&#039;s Hairclip|grandmother&#039;s hair comb]]. Having long hair tied up was intended to indicate that she has a strong sixth sense, but hates it and tries not to think about it.&amp;lt;ref&amp;gt;[http://www.tecmo.co.jp/product/zero/zero_staff_an2.htm Zero Anthology #2 - Miku and Mafuyu]. [http://fftranslations.atspace.co.uk/ff/anthology2.html (English translation)]&amp;lt;/ref&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
* Miku seems to have an artistic streak, and made several items in [[Rei Kurosawa&#039;s House]] by hand, including candles and a paper lampshade.&lt;br /&gt;
* Miku&#039;s character design was altered slightly when Zero ~zero~ was brought to the United States and renamed &#039;Fatal Frame&#039;. When the game was brought over to the Xbox console, the Japanese version also featured the new Miku design.&lt;br /&gt;
* Miku is the only Fatal Frame character to be featured in another game series besides Fatal Frame. She is an unlockable monster in [[Monster Rancher 4]] Playstation 2 game as well as the Monster Farm Pop! cellphone game. She also recently showed up in the Tecmo Wii game, [[Super Swing Golf]] and its [[Super Swing Golf: Season 2|sequel]] as an unlockable outfit.&lt;br /&gt;
* In Fatal Frame III, Miku&#039;s cursed tattoo shows up as [[Red ink|red]] on her body.&lt;br /&gt;
* Her name 深紅 literally means &amp;quot;deep red&amp;quot;, which is her image colour, and matches the colour of her outfits and her cursed tattoo in Fatal Frame III.&lt;br /&gt;
* The Japanese version of Miku&#039;s default costume is one of her unlockable costumes in Fatal Frame III. You can get it by beating the game in Hard mode, or beating the game three times in Easy or Normal mode.&lt;br /&gt;
*Miku is descended from the [[Kurosawa Family]] of [[Minakami Village]].&lt;br /&gt;
