The Funeral Celebrant is one of a pair of old women who presided over the rituals performed on Mount Hikami. In contrast to the Wedding Celebrant, she is dressed all in black.
The Funeral Celebrant was in charge of the sacrificial pillar rituals on the mountain, putting shrine maidens who had glanced as many deaths as they could bear into reliquaries or caskets, then sinking the box beneath the black water of the Shadowspring. She was killed when Ose Kurosawa's ritual failed and engulfed the mountain in black water. She carries a mirror that she can use to emit a blinding light, or force people inside black boxes.
