Reika,

I had yet another dream about that mysterious mansion last night.

Every single night, I hear your voice. Every single night, I see the woman who resembles you. The rest of the dream changes day by day, though. I have also seen a few young girls, and a woman dressed in a peculiar costume.

The real you should be in the village, as you were, but whenever I think upon my memories of the dreams, I feel as if you yourself have become the priestess from that odd tale.

Whilst I wanted to clarify the details of my own birth, ever since I came here, I have also begun wishing to learn more about the customs, folk tales and so on of our hometown and the Tohoku region, which must be at the root of it.

Amongst the legends I learned of were several very sad and grief-filled tales I was told as bedtime stories as a child: for example, a story about a monk who tattoos people, known as the "tattoo master", and a story about a girl who has her feelings for her late sweetheart tattooed upon her body.

Come to think of it, I feel as if I remember once having heard that the Dreaming Priestess is a very special and praiseworthy priestess who for some reason is said to take on people's sorrow and suffering on their behalf.

I am unsure whether or not such a priestess truly exists; nor can I tell whether the story I claim to have heard is real or a childhood dream of mine. But even if it is a fabrication of my own mind, I feel gratitude to the one who would take in all of our sorrow and suffering, and find it to be an awfully pitiable tale.

Sometimes, when I see you in my dreams, I sense a great sadness coming from you.

I believe that you must still be in the village, awaiting my return, smiling that same beautiful smile of yours as always at your parents' side.

From your family, Kaname
