The Koto Room was a room on the second floor of Himuro Mansion. This room was created for the girls of the Himuro family.[1] It houses a koto which, when the correct tune is played, unlocks the door to the Attic. It also contains a gramophone, and many photographs taken by Yae Munakata with the old camera. When Miku discovers the photos, she recalls the very similar pictures her mother took, and wonders if they were taken with the same camera.
Strange Phenomena
- The screen wall of the Koto Room borders the 2F Fireplace Room. During Night 2, koto music can be heard in the Fireplace Room, and a woman's shadow appears cast on the screen.
- When Miku enters the room and finds the Bronze Key, Yae's voice can be heard through the gramophone, saying, "It can't be! How can a camera expose something that doesn't even exist? (I can see it...)"
Misc. Info
- It is possible that Yae Munakata stayed in this room while she lived at Himuro Mansion.
- The developers originally planned to include a scene in which Kirie would cross the beams in the Buddha Room to visit her mother in the Koto Room, though this was scrapped from the final game.[2]
