Kumi Suzumori is a character in Fatal Frame: Shadow Priestess. She is a junior in the modern architecture seminar Sara Washizuki attends.

Kumi was romantically involved with Professor Koutari for a while, though he ended the relationship before the manga begins. She shows up for the class trip to Karasawa Elementary in an outfit resembling a maid costume, which she claims is "underground Akiba style" fashion, and openly flirts with Jun Takakura.

On the first night at Karasawa Shrine, she lingers in the bath after the other girls have gone, and becomes a target of the Necromancer, who is lurking nearby. When she gets up, she finds her entire body is covered with strands of hair, and moments later, multiple disembodied hands appear and drag her under the water. Sara and the others are concerned about her disappearance, but Professor Koutari is dismissive, putting it down to her fickle personality.

In Chapter 9, Professor Koutari and some of the other members of the class meet Kumi in the elementary school, after a ghost attack has caused them to become separated from Sara and Tousei. Professor Koutari is pleased to see her at first, but before long Kumi starts acting strangely. She reveals their former relationship to a shocked Jun and Midori when she asks him to call her by her given name again. Professor Koutari coldly reminds her that the relationship is over, at which point Kumi produces a knife and cuts her own throat, saying she should have died when he broke up with her. Her mutilated spirit advances on the group, possesses Tooru and chases Mr. Koutari down the halls, begging him to call her cute again.

For a while, the spirit retains Tooru's appearance and Kumi's personality. It possesses Takeru Ugajin next, and is finally exorcised by Sara.

Later, Kumi reappears as a shadow, whispering to Midori Hazawa. Midori is developing feelings for Professor Koutari, and Kumi's spirit tries to turn her against him. She claims Midori once defended her when she was being harassed by some boys, for which Kumi was grateful, and in return, warns Midori that Professor Koutari is the necromancer. When Midori pretends to stab Professor Koutari, Kumi reveals her true nature, and Midori manages to drive her away with a single punch.

• In her introductory chapter, the English translation calls her Hatomi, but this is corrected in her next appearance.
