Rear Shrine of Dolls Kanji 形代奥社 Game Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water Located at Twilit Peak Function Shrine Status Abandoned

Katashiro Rear Shrine is the older, inner branch of the Shrine of Dolls in the Unfathomable Forest. Effigies housing the spirits of dead children are enshrined inside. It was believed that orphaned children would be beckoned by the sunset and climb the mountain; the effigies were meant to help soothe their spirits and guide them to the other side.
