Suzume Umishima was a fifth year student at Karasawa Elementary in 1936. On February 25th she was molested and murdered by the principal, who paid a construction worker to help him conceal her body beneath the school. It remained undiscovered for decades, during which time the school fell deeper and deeper under Suzume's curse.
When the Modern Architecture Group arrive at Karasawa Village, Suzume Umishima's vengeful spirit attaches itself to Beniko Shirasagi, a Necromancer. She uses Beniko to trap everyone in the school inside a Dark Seal, and causes them to be beset by evil spirits and illusions. Sara Washizuki learns the truth and exposes Beniko, and then uses the Camera Obscura to purify Suzume's vengeful spirit. As soon as Suzume is freed, the school collapses. Her bones are later found beneath the ruins.
