*Despite his importance to the plot, Kirie's Lover remains a mysterious character - his name, family and even the reason for his visit to [[Himuro Mansion]] are all unknown. Although he bears a strong resemblance to Mafuyu, there is no evidence he is in any way related to the [[Hinasaki Family|Hinasaki]], [[Munakata Family|Munakata]], or [[Kurosawa Family|Kurosawa]] families.
*Kirie's Lover's perspective is recorded in a [[Guest's Notes|game note]] exclusive to the Xbox edition of Fatal Frame.
*While the correlation chart connects the Himuro Family Master to Kirie's Love with an arrow that says "murder", in-game notes show he only gave the order, and did not do the killing himself.
