In the vicinity of [[Mt. Hikami]], people have been mysteriously disappearing without a trace.

One such girl is [[Miu Hinasaki]]. She awakens to find herself in an old, half-flooded [[Shrine of the Ephemeral|building]].

This chapter serves as a tutorial on how to move around. When Miu Hinasaki wakes up, she finds herself in a pool of water, surrounded by female ghosts. They chase her as she searches for the exit. She finds an open door, but it slams shut, and when she touches it she has a vision. She goes in search of another exit, but when she turns the corner a rush of [[black water]] floods the floor, accompanied by a ghostly [[Ose Kurosawa|woman in black]]. Miu flees, entering a room with a [[black box]] sitting in a deep pool of water. As she approaches the box slowly opens, and a [[Pale Mistress|woman]] emerges from within. Miu is trapped on the spot as the ghost floats towards her. The screen fades out, then shows the shrine, announcing that Miu has vanished.
