Melody of Tecmo was a cellular phone subscription based on the various games by Tecmo including the first three Fatal Frame games. It was exclusively released in Japan and was first released on May 6, 2003 with NTT Docomo i-mode.[1] The subscription allowed subscribers to download songs, sounds, games and wallpapers for their phones. For the Fatal Frame games, subscribers were only able to download sounds and wallpapers.[2]

Throughout the years, there have been many requests and additions of the three Fatal Frame games. During the first Japanese reprint of Fatal Frame III, the voice of the woman in the box from Fatal Frame II was added. She would notify you on phone calls, emails and messages.
