Ten years ago, Haibara was here.
For the forbidden ritual, the Rite of Descent, he and his father Shigeto required five girls to perform as Kanade, whom he kidnapped.
At the centre of the ritual was a female shrine maiden. She was Sakuya, Shigeto Haibara's daughter and Yo's sister, whom he had a warped love for.
Haibara and his son thought the only way to save Sakuya from a severe case of Getsuyuu Syndrome was to use the finished Mask of the Lunar Eclipse. However, the Ceremony failed, and the mask was broken. Sakuya entered a deep sleep in the basement of the hospital, wandering between life and death, and it was unknown if she'd ever wake up...
And then Kirishima finally remembered everything.
Two years later, Sakuya suddenly awoke and began to wander the island, and one by one the islanders "Bloomed".
It was known as the "Day Without Suffering".
Kirishima pursued Haibara and eventually encountered him. In the confusion he cornered Yo Haibara, and they both fell from the hospital's roof.
"So I was..."
At this place 8 years ago, Kirishima died in front of Haibara Infirmary. Kirishima was chasing the ghost of Haibara, who remained behind just as he did.
After he hands Ruka the piece of the Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Sayaka appears for a last farewell. Kirishima's corpse was left here, forever under the moonlight...
