Tono is a real city in Iwate Prefecture in Japan. It is most famous for the Tōno Monogatari (1910), a collection of folklore stories compiled by Kunio Yanagita, the father of Japanese folklore.

  • Miku mentions to Rei that the dolls depicted in the photograph accompanying this note are similar to the legends of the "Straw Dolls" passed on in Tōno.
