A boat which took passengers from the Shrine of the Ephemeral to the Shrine on the Water. Only shrine maidens who had glanced into enough people's souls and were suffocated with grief could board it. It would take them over the lake without the need to steer.
Should any other person enter the boat, it would sail into the mist and return to the shore, empty.

彼岸舟（ひがんぶね）
幽ノ宮から水上ノ宮へと巫女を運ぶ舟。
多くの想いを引き受け、心が溢れた巫女
だけが乗ることを許される。
船頭などはおらず、心が溢れた巫女が
舟に乗ると、自然と舟は水上ノ宮へと
流れ着く。
資格無き者が乗ると、舟は水上ノ宮へ
着かず、霧の中を彷徨い無人になる
戻ってくる。
