The Shrine on the Water (Japanese: Minakami-no-miya) is a location in Fatal Frame V. It is a partially-flooded structure in the middle of the Lake of the Departed, accessible only by a few chosen shrine maidens sailing in the Boat of Passage. Particularly powerful maidens would pass through the shrine to the Shadowspring.

After the mountain was abandoned, it fell into disrepair. Although legends of a shrine out in the mist-shrouded lake persisted, no one was ever able to find it, and even when other shrines were restored in an attempt to attract tourism, the Shrine on the Water was left in its flooded, ruinous state.
