The ritual known as the Crimson Sacrifice is performed to quell the tremors that occur in the year of the Shadow Ritual.
After the body is carved, the Kusabi is offered to the 
, and the one who has been carved must be enshrined and memorialized at the "Shadow Mound."
Only those deemed cursed or destined to die are permitted to enter the Shadow Mound.
The Kurosawa family crest pinwheel must also be offered there.
Strict surveillance must be maintained.
