From the small room above the roof beams I could see into a room with a huge Buddha statue in it.
What looked like a person was hung from the statue, where a woman carried out a kind of ceremony.

In the room I looked into from the roof, sacks shaped like people were hanging.
On the floor by an altar was a big, red-black bloodstain.
What purpose could this room serve?
天井から覗いた部屋に
は、人のような形をし
た袋が無数に吊り下げ

上から見えていた祭壇
らしき場所の床には、
赤黒い大量の血痕が残
されていた。
この部屋はどういう役
割を持つものなのだろ

I found a Buddha image similar to the one in the blood-stained altar in an old book on folklore.
The book suggested the image was a kind of memorial, used for offering live sacrifices.
Is the image in the book the same as the one in the house?
What was happening in there?

ていた。
その本によると、その
仏像は何らかの供儀、
つまり生贄を捧げる儀
式に使われたのではな
いか、とされていた。
本の仏像は、あの仏像

か。
あの部屋では何が行わ
れていたのだろうか・・・
