One theory about the lost village held that there was once a great massacre there.
All the villagers were killed, and that's how the village came to vanish.
A woman wearing a red sash, laughing maniacally in a bloody sea of corpses is the vision Mio saw of the "massacre".
On the day of the ceremony, Sae laughingly attacked and slaughtered the villagers gathered in the Great Hall.
She then went out and began killing the rest of the villagers one by one...

Some believe that before Minakami Village vanished, a massacre occurred, slaying the entire population.
At the heart of the village, a woman wearing a red sash stands among a bloody sea of dead bodies and laughs wildly. This is the image that Mio saw in a vision.
On the day of the ceremony, this woman fell upon the villagers gathered in the Great Hall and slew them without mercy.
Those who managed to escape the bloodbath were hunted down and picked off one by one.

One theory claims that a massacre once occurred at Minakami Village that resulted in the death of everyone in the village. The village was filled with bloodstained corpses, amidst which stood a single girl in crimson, laughing as if taken by madness. This is the same slaughter Mio witnessed in her vision. On the day of the festival, the girl had attacked and killed the townsfolk gathered in the main hall. From there, she set upon the remaining villagers outside of the hall, slaying each and every one of them.

一説によると、「地図から消えた村」では、
かつて大虐殺が行われ、村人たちは全て
死に絶えて地図から消えた、とも
伝えられている。
村の奥、血に染まった死体の海で、狂った
ように笑う紅い帯の女性。
それが、澪が見た「大虐殺」の姿だった。
彼女は、祭りの日に大広間に集まっていた
村人たちを笑いながら襲い、殺しつくした。
そして、屋敷の外へ出て残った村人たちを
次々と手にかけていった。
