Mio's Memo: Sae Kurosawa

The last of the Twin Shrine Maidens, Sae and her older sister Yae. They tried to run away from the village to escape their fate as twins, but Sae fell from the mountain path and was captured by the villagers. Sae firmly believed Yae would come back to save her, but Yae never returned.

"She left me behind..."

The villagers completed the ritual by their own hand. Sae, now in despair, was hung to death with a sacred rope and then thrown into the Hellish Abyss.

But because the ceremony wasn't performed properly, the Hellish Abyss broke open, and The Repentance occurred.

Reappearing from out of the Hellish Abyss, Sae slaughtered the entire village and then sat waiting in desolation for her older sister's return.

She was the last of the twin maidens.

Sae fled alongside her sister, Yae, trying to escape the fate of all twins in the village. But she tripped and fell from a mountain ledge, and was captured.

She was sure that her sister would come back to rescue her, but her sister never came. Sae was alone.

'She abandoned me...'

The villagers tried to perform the ceremony with her alone. At the end of her ordeal, Sae was hanged using a ritual shimenawa rope and her lifeless body was pitched into the gaping maw of the Abyss.

But the ceremony had not been conducted correctly. The Abyss yawned and the unfathomable darkness of the Repentance poured forth from it.

Sae too emerged from the Abyss, slaughtering the villagers and then waiting in the empty village for the day her sister would return. Sae waited and waited... alone...

The final twin maiden. She and her sister Yae tried to escape the fate that befell twins in Minakami, though the attempt failed when she fell from the mountain path and was captured by the townsfolk. Sae believed her sister would come to save her, though she never did. The next ritual was conducted by the villagers themselves, who used sacred shrine rope to hang her by the neck. Sae perished convinced she had been left behind, and entered the Abyss. The bastardized ritual caused the Abyss to open wide, triggering the Repentance; Sae appeared from the Abyss, slaughtering the residents of Minakami Village. There she would remain, awaiting her sister's return in a village devoid of human life.

最後の双子巫女。

この村における双子の運命から逃れようと
姉の八重と共に村から逃げるが、途中で
山道から落ち、村人たちに捕まってしまう。

「八重がきっと助けに来てくれる」と信じて
いた紗重だが、八重が戻ることはなかった。


「置いて行かれた・・・」

祭りの続きは、村人の手によって行われた。

絶望の中、注連縄（しめなわ）で首を吊られ
て殺され、虚に入れられる紗重。

間違った方法で祭りが行われたため、虚は
開き、大償が起きてしまう。


虚から現れた紗重は、村人全員を虐殺した後、
誰もいなくなった村で姉の帰りを待っていた。
