There's also a Charge Meter on the edge of the circle. Keep the spirit within the circle to charge up Spirit Power.

The more Spirit Power you charge up, the more damage you'll inflict when you photograph a spirit.

Try charging up Spirit Power and taking a photo during a Shutter Chance to attack the spirit.
