鬼隻となりし姉の茜(あかね)を慰めんが
ため、薊(あざみ)の形身となる人形を作る。
儀式の日より心を病み、感情を失った茜は、
人形と並ぶとどちらが人か、 どちらが人形
かわからないほどだ。
茜はかたときも薊より離れず、薊に話し
かける。 何を話しているかはわからぬが、
心も少しずつではあるが、 戻りつつある
のだろう。
儀式さえなければ・・・
薊も蝶となることもなく、 茜も心を失うことは
なかったのだが。
