| Description | A stone mirror with a finely-cut holly and butterfly design. |
| Additional Description | The back of this old mirror has been engraved with a snake design that looks just like the tattoo... |
The Mirror of Loss was the key to opening the door to the "Other Side," so the Tattooed Priestess could cross the Abyss of the Horizon and go from the land of the living to the land of the dead. The priestess would etch her feelings into the mirror and place it on the altar in the Engraving Shrine, which would open the door to the Last Passage. She would then break the mirror at the Shrine of Loss between the Last Passage and Abyss of the Horizon, in preparation for her eventual impalement.
Miku Hinasaki finds the intact mirror in the Hanging Prison in Hour XI. In Hour XIII, Rei Kurosawa must collect its five fragments from around the Manor in order to enter the door to the Last Passage in the Engraving Shrine.
