I heard children's voices singing on the other side of the red door deep within the manor.
It was a lullaby, accompanied by the sound of hammering and sung in some strange dialect I had never heard before.

屋敷の奥にある赤い扉
の内側から、子供の歌
声が聞こえた。
何かを打ち付ける音に
あわせた、子守唄のよ
うな唄。
歌詞はどこかの方言の
ような、聞いたことの
ない響きだった。

Miku was singing the same lullaby I heard inside the manor.
She says she heard the song in her dream too.
Has she been having the same dreams?
Is she being lured into the house too?
Just like Yoshino Takigawa... and me?
あの屋敷で聞いた子守
唄と同じ唄を、深紅が
唄っていた。
彼女も夢でその唄を聞
いたのだと言う。
彼女も、あの夢を見て
いる・・・あの屋敷に誘わ
れているのだろうか。
私や、瀧川吉乃と同じ
ように・・・

According to a book Miku found for me, the lullaby sounds like a song called "The Sleeping Shrine Maiden" from Northeastern Japan.
The empty house I visited on that job assignment was in the same part of the country, off the map deep in the hills.
The book suggests the song might be a folk corruption of an old religions ritual.
A ceremony to do with sleep. Could it be connected to my dreams somehow?
深紅が調べてきてくれ
た本によると、あの子
守唄は北東北に伝わる
「眠り巫女」という唄
と似ているようだ。
取材した廃屋は、確か
に東北の、地図にも載
らないような山奥にあ
った。
その民俗学の本には、
何らかの宗教儀式に関
る唄が、民謡化したも
のではないかと書かれ
ていた。
「眠り」に関る宗教儀
式・・・それが、あの夢に
関るのだろうか。

The lullaby in the manor, the Handmaiden's Song. According to a book left in the manor, the song is meant to soothe the pain (or holly) of the Priestess and prays for her repose.
The last verse sends the Shrine Maiden off to the "Other Shore" once the etching of the holly has been completed.
"Go to the other side. Go to the other side..."
Letting go her pain, she crosses over to the Other Shore.
The gate is opened, and countless souls attain peace at her passing.
屋敷に伝わる子守唄、
「鎮メ唄」。
屋敷に残されていた本
によると、その唄は巫
女の柊（痛み）を鎮め、
眠りを祈る唄なのだと
いう。
そして、その最後の一
節は、柊を刻み終えた
巫女を、「彼ノ岸」へ
送り出すための唄であ
るらしい。
ゆきなさよ、はたて、
ゆきなさよ、はたて。
涯へ送られた巫女は、
そこで柊を流し、彼ノ
岸へ渡る。
そのとき、門が開かれ
多くの魂が、みわたり
で・・・成仏していく・・・
