There are invisible shadows that only psychics can see.
To reveal these traces leading to the Other World, such as residual thoughts and the spirits of the dead, I have developed several prototypes of the "Camera Obscura", but I think that further improvement is possible.
In my research, I have found that the paints utilized in the making of masks on Rougetsu Island increases the probability of capturing these shadows on film.
As a result, I've become convinced that the potential power of the "Camera Obscua" exceeds even my own expectations.
That is, using the "Camera Obscura" to photograph the "shadows" exerts a powerful effect on them.
In my opinion, this effect is close to what the psychics call "exorcism".
I should add that my personal experiences on the island profoundly influenced my arrival at this bold belief.
Without explanation, I've decided to donate one Camera Obscura to the owner of these lodgings.
I cannot help but think that one day the power of the Camera Oscura may be needed on this island.
I hope my fears are unwarranted.

霊能者達に見え、私たちには見えぬ影。
死者の魂や、その場に残った思念といった
異界に通ずる手がかりを写し出すべく
試作を重ねた「射影機」だが、
更なる改良ができそうだ。
調査の結果、朧月島の面打ちで
用いられる塗料が、その影を
フィルムに焼き付けるのに
有用である可能性が高まったのである。
また調査の中で、「射影機」には
私の予想を超える力が
存在することを確信した。
それは、「射影機」で撮影することで
「影」が、強い影響を受ける、という事である。
私の所感では、霊能者たちの言う
「除霊」に近いものと考える。
なお、この大胆な確信に至るに、
島での体験が大きく作用した事を追記する。
事情は語らぬまま、射影機を一つ
宿の主に寄贈する事にした。
この島にいずれ射影機の力が
必要となる日が来ると
私には思われてならない。
