I'd never entered the Old Tree until now.
I was too scared to ever try after hearing that's where they established the graves for the village's twins.
But now that I've been inside, there's something strange: I can't find a grave for Itsuki anywhere.
What I have found is one that seems to belong to Mutsuki. Not only that, it had white spider lilies placed by it.
That must mean Itsuki is still alive, and Yae and Sae have kept that from me.
If he really is out there, he must be as tall as me by now. He probably still has same smile, too. It was always tinged with a little darkness. Hopefully he's still as kind and gentle a person to talk to as he was before.
I think I'm going to check out the Tsuchihara storehouse next. That's another place we all used to play at back in the day.

双子の墓があると聞いて、怖くて入れなかったの

ここにも樹月はいない。
だが、睦月の墓と思しき場所に、白い彼岸花が
手向けられていた。
樹月は生きている。
八重と紗重も、そのことを伏せている。
彼が生きていたら、背は私くらい伸びたろうか。
どこか陰りのある笑顔は変わらないだろうか。
優しい話しぶりはあのころのままだろうか。
樹月と睦月と戯れた槌原の蔵へも行ってみよう。
