Miku's Hairclip

The hairclip that Miku wears in Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame III and Fatal Frame V. The hair ornament is special because it is the same hairclip that her grandmother, Mikoto Munakata, wore as a child. It was passed down to her mother Miyuki and eventually given to her. Miku's long hair is a visual symbol of her strong sixth sense, which she dislikes, so her hairclip represents her efforts to bind and restrain it. Miku always wears her hair up, even when she is asleep.

Miku wears the hairclip with all of her costumes in both Fatal Frame and Fatal Frame III. In Fatal Frame III, there is an accessory option to change the hairclip into a barrette.

In Fatal Frame V, Miku still wears her hairclip, but it appears to be upside-down. It is not known what happens to the hairclip at the end of the game.
