Takeru Ugajin is a character in Fatal Frame: Shadow Priestess. He is the leader of the urban exploration group Moebius. They visit the abandoned Karasawa Elementary and run into the modern architecture class from Fujisawa University. The youngest member of the group, Mikiko Hashiki, vanishes at the swimming pool; Reiji Hotei is attacked when he approaches to look for her, and everyone scatters as more ghosts crawl out of the pool. Takeru, Reiji and Maya end up with Sara, Beniko and Tousei, separated from Professor Koutari and the rest of the architecture group.

As Sara and the others are discussing how to break the Dark Seal over the school, Tooru Nue enters. Though his behaviour is markedly out of character, only Sara and Tousei guess the truth: that he has been possessed and become an evil spirit. As Sara warns Beniko to keep her distance, Takeru unsuspectingly approaches Tooru and pats his shoulder, but the flesh gives way under his hand and engulfs his arm. Unable to escape, he is fully absorbed, and the spirit takes on Takeru's shape. Declaring that he is hungry and it is time for the class's three o'clock snack, he claws his belly open and commences eating his own intestines.

Sara exorcises the spirit using the Camera Obscura, and for a moment Takeru returns to his former self. However, the damage done to his body is too great, and he dies moments later.

Takeru's spirit reappears some chapters later, tricking Reiji Hotei and attempting to attack him.
