Recently, I have observed dramatic changes in Magaki of Room 309.
He has been exhibiting increasingly problematic behaviors, such as sudden screaming fits while smiling as though possessed.
He began to cause another commotion after lights out last night, and when I hurried in there to see what the matter was, he tried to grab hold of me while shouting things like, "annihilation".
I have also observed dramatic changes in his paintings.
He endlessly works on depictions of the same sinister-looking woman, who I now unmistakably recognize as the patient from the special isolation room.
Why would Magaki paint her, of all people?
To me, this appears to be an omen that the "woman without a face" will soon awaken.

最近、大きな変化が見られます。
何かに取り憑かれたような笑顔で
急に大きな声で騒ぎ立てるなど、
問題行動が増えてきました。
昨夜も消灯後、突然騒ぎ始め
様子を見に駆けつけた私に向かって
「消滅を」等と
叫びながらつかみかかってきました。
さらに、ご自身が描かれる絵にも
大きな変化が見られます。
禍々しい女性を描いた絵を
描き続けておられますが、
あの絵の女性が特別隔離室の患者
である事はもはや疑いようがありません。
なぜ曲木さんが、あの人の絵を描くのでしょう？
その事が私には、あの「顔の無い人」が
目覚める予兆のように思えるのです。
