Plot Summary

The three separate groups continue to investigate Karasawa Elementary, solving riddles left by the Necromancer to lead them closer to the centre of the maze. Kanon's spirit offers assistance to Sara and Tousei, while Beniko and Reiji are rescued by Mozu and Tsugumi. Everyone is finally reunited in the school grounds, and hints point them to the school library.

Clues and photographs reveal the origin of the curse on the school: the 1936 murder of a young girl, Suzume Umishima, who was secretly buried beneath the school's foundations while it was being constructed. Meanwhile, Sara notices that in the photographs Tousei has taken, Beniko only appears in the negatives, not the developed pictures. The group solves the last remaining puzzle, and Sara reveals that Beniko is the Necromancer. In the final battle, she manages to exorcise the spirits possessing Beniko, and Suzume Umishima's vengeful ghost is finally purified and laid to rest. As the school begins to collapse, they escape through the swimming pool, guided by Kanon.

After their experience at Karasawa Elementary, the survivors return to their ordinary lives, though Sara knows that, as the Shadow Priestess, she may have to face another Necromancer one day.
