As in Fatal Frame III, the same FMV is used for both endings of Fatal Frame IV. There is no change to what occurs during the main scene, except that the Photograph Ending uses Amano Tsukiko's song Zero no Chouritsu, while the Normal ending uses Amano Tsukiko's song NOISE.
The other difference between the two endings is the photographs shown during the credits.
Misaki Asou is shown collapsed on the ground holding Miya, right where the player last saw her. She then gets up as a form appears in front of her. It is that of Madoka Tsukimori. Misaki drops the doll and goes to see Madoka. Madoka takes Misaki's hand and leads out of the caverns to the beach. She smiles at Misaki as she dissolves into light like the other spirits. Misaki is seen watching the souls being freed and crossing over to the Other Side.
Ruka's FMV showing her playing the piano and the Moonsong is once again played at the end of the credits, as well as an image of a pond reflecting the moon in the middle of a forest.

Misc. Info
- Although neither ending of Fatal Frame IV has been officially confirmed as canon, Makoto Shibata stated on Twitter that he personally prefers the ending in which Misaki survives.[1]
