Iori Aiba is a ghost in Fatal Frame IV. She was a mainlander who visited Rogetsu Isle with her elder brother, Takashi Aiba, who was studying the local mask folklore.

She and Takashi attended the tourist kagura, but when the Rite of Descent failed, Iori and Takashi contracted a mild case of Moonlight Syndrome and became patients at Haibara Infirmary. At some point, Iori was moved from Haibara Infirmary and given a room in Rogetsu Hall, but soon afterwards she broke the doorknob of her room and refused to come out. During the game, this door only ever opens from the inside; in a cutscene in Phase II, Iori's ghost emerges from the room when music therapy is broadcast through the ward.

During Phase VIII, Iori appears standing inside a curtained-off bed in the second floor ward of Haibara Infirmary. She then attacks Misaki along with her brother.

Like Takashi, Iori wears bandages around her head, suggesting that she also attempted to blind herself.

Misc. Info

  • Iori's room is #204 - 陰月 (Ingetsu; "shadow moon").
  • There is some contradictory information about the timeline of events in Iori's stay on Rogetsu Isle. The note 2F Room Assignments lists Iori as the patient in Room 204 at the end of July before the Rogetsu Kagura (since Madoka Tsukimori is still there), and says she was given the room after Tomoko Hinuma committed suicide. However, Tomoko's post-mortem says she died on the night of the kagura, and Takashi's letters mention he and Iori both developed Moonlight Syndrome after the festival.
  • Like Natsuki Shiono, Iori's primary attack involves her ducking when she is in close range and then lunging at the player.
  • Iori's hidden ghost can be found by photographing the door to her room. It shows Iori standing in a room with red walls.
