In Minakami Village, stone Buddhist images resembling common roadside guardians can be found scattered throughout. However, unlike in other regions, where such slabs typically depict male and female kami, or gods, the figures carved into these images appear to be Shinto shrine maidens. Twins, to be precise.

According to the children of the village, such girls are called "twin maidens" and are worshiped as gods here.

With that in mind, while searching through what historical documents still remain in this manor, I came across text that references these maidens as Crimson Sacrifices.

I suppose the Hidden Ceremony relates to these sacrifices in some way.
