Soetsu Yomotsuki

Template:FF4 Minor CharacterAn ancestor of Ruka Minazuki and Soya Yomotsuki, Soetsu was the head of the Yomotsuki family and the master mask-maker of the island. Soya makes a note that Soetsu was of the seventh generation of Yomotsuki mask makers. He sought to create the true Mask of the Lunar Eclipse for the Rite of Descent, but when his mask was used the ceremony failed, causing a disaster called the Day Without Suffering. After this disaster, Soetsu mysteriously disappeared, the mask itself became taboo and the ceremony was halted.

Generations later, Soya discovered some of Soetsu's notes and used them to try to "complete" the Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
