Template:FF4 Minor CharacterSakuya Haibara's mother suffered from Getsuyuu Syndrome, like Sakuya herself did, and like her daughter had a very strong sixth sense, which made her more susceptible to the disease. Sakuya's mother blamed herself for her daughter's illness as a result of receiving her gift. She committed suicide by jumping off the rooftop of Haibara Infirmary. Her husband, Shigeto, began to obsessively research the disease after his wife's death, dedicating his studies to her.

- Her vanishing ghost can be seen standing outside the railings of Haibara Infirmary's rooftop in the latter stages of Chapter 8. When Misaki reaches out to her, she throws herself from the roof and leaves behind her suicide note.
