Room 204 "Shadow Moon" is one of the patient rooms within Rogetsu Hall in Fatal Frame IV. It is named after the fourth month in the old Japanese calendar, and the room sign bears a wisteria pattern. Room #204 was Tomoko Hinuma's room first; after Tomoko drowned, Iori Aiba was moved there.[1] Iori Aiba purposely broke the doorknob to this room so she wouldn't have to go outside. Because of this, the player is unable to enter the room, although Iori's hidden ghost shows a room with walls painted bright red.
Ghosts Encountered
- Iori Aiba - hidden ghost in the door
Strange Phenomena
During Phase V, if Misaki returns to the 2F Ward corridor after watching the projector reel, something can be heard knocking at the door from inside Room 204.
Additional Information
- The twelve numbered rooms of Rogetsu Hall share nicknames with the twelve months of the lunar calendar. The nickname of Room 204 is 陰月 (Ingetsu; Month of Shadow/Yin), a nickname for April whose meaning is uncertain. As the character 陰 is sometimes used to refer to clouds, this nickname could be connected to the fact that April sees the percentage of time the sky is overcast exceed 50%, creating an association between April and clouds.
- Although the player cannot go inside the room, a cutscene in Phase II does show the door opening and Iori leaving.
