The sixth Camera Obscura to be introduced in the Fatal Frame Series, this camera was brought to Rogetsu Isle by Misaki Asou, and appears to have been passed down through the Asou Family. This is one of two cameras that are used in Fatal Frame IV. Its appearance is worn and rusty. The outer veneer is peeling off in places, revealing an inner layer covered with writing. It is the second Camera Obscura in Fatal Frame IV; the other is the Camera Obscura from the Asou Museum.
History of the Camera
This camera was a prototype created by Dr. Kunihiko Asou, and the first device with which he was successfully able to capture a spiritual force on film.[1] He left it in the safekeeping of the descendants of the Asou Family, warning that it had a strong effect on spiritually sensitive people and should not be used incautiously. The Asou family kept it sealed with protective talismans, but Misaki removed the wards and took the camera with her to Rogetsu Isle.[2] She was aware of the camera's reputation for having strange powers, specifically the ability to capture the past, and hoped that it would be helpful in recovering her lost memories.[3]
Fate of the Camera
The camera's fate is unknown. After fighting Sakuya in Phase VIII, the camera is not shown again, either in the following cutscene or the alternate ending.

Capture Circles

Misaki's camera's capture circle differs from that of Madoka's and Ruka's camera. It is smaller, in the centre of the viewfinder, and charges in two stages. Somewhat similar to the charge during Miku's Double function, it can charge both inner and outer rings fully for a more powerful shot. Like the other camera, its charge empties immediately if the ghost is lost from view.
Misc. Info
- This camera was first shown being held by Misaki Asou in her full-body render.
- At the beginning of each new game plus, all upgrades must be manually re-equipped from the Camera menu.
