Asagi Hizuki was a long-haired child patient who was hospitalized in Haibara Infirmary. She was diagnosed as suffering from the symptoms of Moonlight Syndrome. Her condition was severe. Director Haibara proposed to treat her with experimental surgeries in hopes of finding a cure, although, given that the surgery was experimental, prospects of its actual success were grim. [1] Asagi initially refused to go through with the surgery because she knew other people who had had the surgery and didn't get better.[2] After the surgery, Asagi wrote in her diary that: the inside of her head was "red", her hair had fallen out and she was crying blood.[2] In spite of the pain she was in, her mother reassured her, and the doctors decided to continue the treatment.
After a second operation (and possibly subsequent others), her condition deteriorated rapidly.[3] She was medicated and seemed to recover, but in the night she suddenly became confused and her condition worsened. The doctors attempted to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at 00:32 (unknown date).[4] Her autopsy report lists the cause of death as "unknown", but speculates that a rapid worsening of her condition and weakness following the operation may have been the cause.
Asagi's hostile spirit appears in Phase III. She seems confused about Choshiro's arrival in the hospital, and asks if he's a patient as well.

- She is the youngest (known) victim of the Moonlight Syndrome in the game.
