Stationary ghosts
Stationary Ghosts are ghosts found within the Fatal Frame Series that are unaware of the player's presence. Also frequently called "hidden ghosts" by players, Stationary Ghosts are generally a remnant of a particularly emotional moment for the ghost in question that occurred at a specific location. Instead of being immediately visible as an eerie figure, Stationary Ghosts are rarely noticeable except for the reaction of the Camera Obscura's Filament. Only by taking a picture of the location where they had their emotional moment will the player discover the source of the glow. For example, a protagonist might notice the Filament reaction and take a photo of some rocks to discover an image of a person who died in a landslide.
When the player is near a Stationary Ghost, the Camera Obscura's Filament will glow blue. (In Fatal Frame III, Kei Amakura's Filament glows blue for Hostile Ghosts, too, to indicate that they have not yet noticed his presence.) Photographing Stationary Ghosts gains the player spirit points towards camera upgrades and helps to complete the spirit list.
