Template:FF4MajorGhostAn artist and patient in Rogetsu Hall. His room is filled with portraits he has painted. Several of the paintings seem to show subjects suffering from Blooming. The most obvious picture is the one Yuukou has painted on his floor, which is of Sakuya Haibara. In the Gallery, there is another similar picture of Sakuya, and another of a group of five Kanade.
Fatal Frame IV
Yuukou, like many of the other patients found in Rogetsu Hall, was suffering from the effects of Getsuyuu Syndrome. Before his admission, he had apparently made many large financial contributions to the hospital. In hospital reports, it was recorded that he was rather irritable, but a quiet, private person. He disliked others touching his paintings, nor did he like to be disturbed when he was in the middle of painting. In fact, most of the time during his stay he would be in his room silently painting.
Tsubaki Tono, the third floor nurse, started to observe Yuukou mumbling to himself. He would get very loud and speak incoherently, only one or two of his words making sense before becoming silent again. From then on, his condition only worsened. His problematic behavior increased. He would start grinning obsessively during his unintelligible mutterings before crying out in a loud voice.
One such incident occurred during 'lights out' when Yuukou began screaming. The nurse who went to investigate was grabbed by the artist as he yelled more incoherent nonsense and the words "eradication" and "destruction".

As his status worsened he claimed to have had a "vision" of a woman in red with a blurred face bringing disaster to the island. This made a clear impression on Yuukou's artwork which took on a dramatic sinister tone. His pictures were of the fourth floor patient - Sakuya Haibara.
On the Day Without Suffering, Yuukou along with Choshiro Kirishima, was witness to Sakuya's escape from the basement where she had been imprisoned. He appears to have had a "vision" of the events that occurred after her escape, and this is where he drew inspiration from for the painting on the floor of his room.
