Template:FF4MajorGhostA nurse from Rogetsu Isle. Although she was relatively new,[1] Shie was placed in charge of looking after the only patient in the fourth floor isolation ward of Rogetsu Hall. Before that she is seen in a flashback in Room 310, helping Shoji Katagiri administer treatment to a frightened Misaki Asou.

Background

Shie received direct instructions from Shigeto Haibara to take over Sakuya's care on the fourth floor after the previous nurse committed suicide. Just as her predecessor became fixated on the idea that Sakuya had no true face, Shie almost immediately felt troubled by the recurring idea that Sakuya's name kept changing, and she had no real name.[2]

After the failed Kagura and Tsubaki Tono's death, she was given a desk in the Switchboard Room and continued watching over her designated patient, who was in a coma in the Shrine of Mourning nearby. She also took over Tsubaki's responsibilities concerning the third floor patients. During this time she grew ever more uneasy; she noted that the atmosphere in the hospital had changed since the Kagura. Mysterious deaths had increased, and patients were acting more strangely than ever.[3]

She also felt more and more afraid of Sakuya. Although Sakuya's sleep went on without change, Shie could not rid herself of the idea that Sakuya would one day wake up, and then something terrible would happen.[4] She believed Yuukou Magaki's ominous paintings of a woman in red were a sign of this impending disaster.[5] Down in the basement, she would spend hours staring at the door to the Shrine of Mourning, fearing what might be happening on the other side, and above all, fearing that it would open and Sakuya would come through.[6][7][8][9]

Finally, two years after the Kagura, Shie's fears came true. Sakuya awoke and emerged from her room. Shie appears to have hidden rather than tried to run; her spirit emerges from beneath the desk when Ruka checks the documents there.

Fatal Frame IV

During Fatal Frame IV, Shie's spirit appears in various places around Rogetsu Hall and Haibara Infirmary, especially the Switchboard Room, Room 310 and on the fourth floor.
