Template:FFII GhostUtsuro is a ghost exclusive to the Xbox version of Fatal Frame II, and is the final boss of Survival Mode. It is not the ghost of any one person, but rather an amalgamation of lost souls from the Hellish Abyss. Born from pure hatred, they can neither live nor die and will forever suffer in pain.

Battle

In battle, Utsuro remains partly inside the Hellish Abyss, using ranged attacks against Mio. It can generate flying skulls and balls of spiritual energy, and cause shockwaves that do no damage but knock Mio backwards and cause her to lower the camera. Its attacks are slow and clearly telegraphed, therefore relatively easy to avoid.

  • "Utsuro" can mean "void" or "emptiness", but it is also the Japanese name for the Hellish Abyss.
