Song Information

Kurenai (くれなゐ, meaning "Crimson" in Japanese) is the theme song of Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly. It replaced Chou as the song that plays during the credits upon clearing the game. Though it is a completely different song from Chou, it is considered a "sister song" to it, and the two share main themes. Whereas Chou is in the viewpoint of a butterfly with torn wings flying through the sky, Kurenai is from the viewpoint of the butterfly's wings, lying on the ground and wishing to rejoin its body. When the game was being translated into English, staff consulted with Tsuki Amano on how best to translate Kurenai's lyrics into English.
