Kayano (茅野, Grass Field) is a new explorable location in Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. It is a wide expanse of tall grass between the Storehouse and Minakami Settlement. Since most of the houses in the village are thatched, the developers thought it made sense to have a field where sedge grasses grew, and bundles of harvested grass can be seen in various places around the field. There is also a small grass hut there, created by the village children as a secret play spot.[1] During Chapter 2, villagers patrol the area, searching for the missing twins.
