Kayano Kanji 茅野 Game Crimson Butterfly Remake Located at Minakami Village Function Grass field for thatch Status Abandoned

Kayano (茅野, Grass Field) is a new explorable location in Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. It is a wide expanse of tall grass between the Storehouse and Minakami Settlement. Since most of the houses in the village are thatched, the developers thought it made sense to have a field where sedge grasses grew, and bundles of harvested grass can be seen in various places around the field. There is also a small grass hut there, created by the village children as a secret play spot. During Chapter 2, villagers patrol the area, searching for the missing twins.

Misc. Info

• In supplemental material for Deep Crimson Butterfly, Makoto Shibata describes a similar field of grass he saw in the dream that inspired Fatal Frame II. A scrapped scene described in the fanbook also mentions Mio and Mayu wandering into a field of susuki grass.
