Miyuki Hinasaki is the mother of Mafuyu and Miku Hinasaki, and the wife of Masato Hinasaki. She is also the daughter of Mikoto Munakata and an unknown man. Miyuki was born with the ability to see things normal people could not, a gift she passed on to her two children.
Past
Miyuki is the only known child of Mikoto Munakata. She had a weak and nervous personality and was often ill,[1] and though she was always friendly, her sixth sense prevented her from making many friends as a child.[2] She was always worried that she might have passed on her ability to her children,[3] and encouraged them to keep it secret from others.[2]
At one time she was a student under Masato Hinasaki, and helped him by using the camera she inherited from her mother to photograph artefacts for his work. The two got married and had two children, but Masato spent his time travelling and was rarely at home. His continual absence and neglect of his family wore on Miyuki, and she became ill. It was then that she began to take photographs as a hobby, using her mother's camera.
Under the camera's influence, Miyuki's sixth sense, which had faded as she grew up, returned.[2] Tormented by things that no one else could see, she finally committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree in the garden of her house. Her grandmother, Yae Munakata, to whom she bears a striking resemblance, killed herself in the same way. She was carrying the camera when she died.[1] After her death, Mafuyu found a notebook, presumably left by Miyuki, which talked about his and Miku's psychic abilities and how to use the camera.[1]
Misc. Info
- Miyuki is one of the few victims to have died from adverse effects of overusing the Camera Obscura.
- Miyuki and Yae Munakata look so similar that a lot of fans have confused Miku's flashback of her mother and the discovery of her mother's body to Miku dreaming about Yae.
