People Killed (瘴気で倒れた人々, People Killed by Malice) is the name given to a group of minor ghosts that appear in Fatal Frame. They were amongst the members of the Himuro family gathered at Himuro Mansion for the Strangling Ritual on December 13th, 1837. The ritual failed, flooding the mansion with deadly Malice which killed scores of those present, including these men. Following their deaths, they returned to haunt the mansion as hostile spirits.[1]
Though there are only three unique ghosts in the game who go by this name, People Killed appear to be a generic representation of the Himuro family members who were directly killed by the Malice itself. A large group of them are shown approaching Miku when she enters the Banned Path for the first time at the end of Night 2; furthermore, men dressed in the same attire can be seen on the Banned Path and at the Hell Gate prior to the Calamity, and bodies in the same clothing are strewn about the mansion following the disaster.
