Mio and Mayu Amakura, identical twins, have arrived on the outskirts of All God's Village after following a Crimson Butterfly through the Forest. After entering the first house they come to, Mayu has flashbacks to Miyako Sudo's life, a woman who became trapped there, and her unfortunate demise inside the cursed Osaka House.

During this introductory chapter, the player learns how to operate the controls of the Camera Obscura, and on first playthrough gets various gameplay tutorials.
