Chapter 2: The Twins

After defeating the ghost of Miyako Sudo, Mio wakes up alone. In the Hearth Room, she sees Mayu going out through the main door of the Osaka House and calls after her, but Mayu only says, "I'm sorry. I must go." Mio has a vision of Mayu following crimson butterflies through the village and encountering a spirit in a bloody kimono, who puts her hands to Mayu's throat.
Mio follows, and is just in time to see Mayu disappearing through a huge pair of double-doors at the end of the street, but by the time Mio reaches them, the doors are closed and locked.
Following the crimson butterflies that appear to guide her, Mio finds her way to a Storehouse where a white-haired boy is imprisoned. He calls Mio "Yae", and tells her to get Sae out of the village before the ritual begins. From him, Mio learns where the keys are hidden, and is able to unlock the double-doors. She crosses the long bridge across the water and enters the grounds of the ceremony master's house.
