After defeating Kirie and placing the Holy Mirror back into its place, Miku reunites with her brother as the mirror purifies Kirie of the Malice and removes the curse from her spirit. White Kimono appears and reminds Kirie of her duty to keep the Hell Gate closed. The two spirits fuse into one again as Kirie walks over to the gate, where ropes tie themselves to Kirie's wrists and hold her up against the gate in order to seal it shut. As she deals with shutting the gate, she urges the two to leave the mansion.
Mafuyu pauses and turns to look at Kirie; however, instead of staying with her, he eventually turns and runs from the mansion with Miku. As they reach the outside, the restless souls that have been freed from the curse and are no longer trapped in the mansion can be seen passing on to the afterlife. As the two watch the souls floating up into the sky, Mafuyu explains Kirie's fate in the mansion as the two watch:
- "Kirie... she was always struggling for life. Her soul must remain there, keeping the gates sealed off for all eternity. She had to sacrifice everything... These souls may rest in peace but her soul will always suffer.... forever... and ever."
- ―Mafuyu Hinasaki
The scene ends with Miku claiming that both she and Mafuyu have stopped seeing things that people can't after their experience at the mansion.
