Template:FFII GhostSunken Woman, or The Drowned Woman in Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly, haunts the Whisper Bridge which leads to the Kurosawa House. Long before Mio and Mayu became trapped in the Lost Village, she became lost in the forest and eventually wandered into the village. She died by drowning, caught by the arms of the dead, long ago. She was pulled into the icy cold lake and couldn't swim to the surface. The manner she was pulled into the water is probably connected with the hole in the broken bridge, where taking a photograph will reveal her lifeless face.

Misc. Info
- You may confront Sunken Woman twice on Whisper Bridge. The bubbling of the water can be heard during both occasions.
- There are no mandatory encounters with this ghost - if the picture of her stationary ghost is not taken she will not attack, and all other encounters with her are random.
- The Japanese version of the ghost list mentions Sunken Woman's origins, and that she was in fact a Spirited Away who became trapped in the village long before Mio and Mayu, explaining her attire. The localised versions of the game omit this fact, which confused many fans.
- In the Fatal Frame: Deep Crimson Butterfly she can make water drip down the player's viewfinder while fighting her.
