The Tsuchihara family were the family that enforced law in [[Minakami Village]] from [[Fatal Frame II]]. The Tsuchihara family were the family that enforced law in Minakami Village from Fatal Frame II. Like the Kiryus, Tachibanas and Osakas, they were a branch of the Kurosawa Family, and one of the four most powerful families in the village. It was their duty to look after places in the village pertaining to the Crimson Sacrifice Ritual, such as Kureha Shrine and Misono Hill.[1] They were in charge of the Storehouse, which served as a jail cell for those in the village who had committed crimes. The Tsuchiharas themselves would sometimes be allowed to punish the perpetrator.[2]
Long before the Repentance, the Tsuchihara family died out. Their house, which stands beside the Storehouse, is completely ruined and cannot be explored. In the game, the family is mentioned mainly in connection with a gravestone in the cemetery which is explored while searching for their family crest.
Possible Members
- There is speculation that Broken Neck Woman may be a member of this family, since she appears near the Tsuchihara grave, but that is the only 'evidence' in the game that points to any character being a member of the family.
- In the Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water remaster's digital artbook, Fallen Woman is labelled "Aoi Tuchihara" (槌原 葵). ('Tu' is an uncommon alternative way of romanizing 'tsu'.)
